There are a lot of choices when it comes to travel. Where to go, how to book, what to take. This page is to share with you resources, tools, and gear that I use when I travel to give you a leg up.
Lodging
Booking.com is my choice for booking hostels, hotels, and guesthouses or apartments that you may not find on other hotel aggregators. Booking offers the most flexible options for our travel needs.
Flights
Sky Scanner is my go-to tool for finding the best deals on flights. It’s a flight aggregator that gives you all the options with customizable itineraries that fit exactly what I’m looking for every time.
Transportation
Discover Cars is the premier rental car aggregator and is available for most destinations. They offer customizable booking options in different languages and a friendly service team to stand behind their service.
Get Transfer is a place where you can book private transportation from point A to point B straight away with no bus stops or ride-sharing. It’s ideal for booking transfers from the airport to your hotel or vice versa.
Bus Bud is an awesome resource that gives you access to local bus routes in thousands of destinations all over the world. Use this tool to make sure you have a seat on the bus you need, so you don’t risk showing up and the bus being sold out.
This is also a great tool if you don’t speak the local language, as the site translates into English and can show you prices in USD!
Tours/Activities
Viator is where you can book the tours or activities you want to do when you get to your travel destination. The tours and activities are owned and operated by local tour companies and Viator gathers the best of the best for you to choose from.
Gear
Pakt is a company that offers premium quality travel gear like backpacks, packing cubes, and a nifty travel mug. Their products are functional and eco-friendly. I like that the company has a commitment to sustainability that shows in the materials used to make their products.
Kizik is killing the shoe game right now. Their step-in-heel technology is perfect for us travelers who need a comfortable shoe that slips on and off super easily and doesn’t look like a slip-on.
The shoes have a great look, especially the Athens, which is our favorite. We also like the Madrid Eco-Knit which is made from recycled plastic bottles (and still looks great)! I styled my personal pair with Xpand No-Tie Laces for a cleaner look.
Credit Card
Chase Sapphire Preferred is the card I use to book my travel. You get 3x points on all dining and some streaming services, 2x points on travel (5x if you book through Chase Ultimate Rewards), and a $50 annual credit on hotel bookings. There is a long list of benefits making this card very useful for travel.
